Hey there! I'm a guitar playing, ukulele strumming, vlogger from the UK. I’m a comic geek, and I’ve got a plan for the zombie apocalypse.
I am made up of sass and innuendos wrapped in a smooth, soft British exterior.
CHVRCHES: Oh, have I mentioned that I love CHVRCHES? I don’t think I have ever mentioned that I love CHVRCHES before. Let me just keep gushing about how they pump out countless great electropop tracks, and Lauren Mayberry is an angelic vocal presence, and the production is so much fun to listen to.
The Aces: Same as CHVRCHES, I don’t think I’ve EVER mentioned The Aces before. They balance pop and rock with snappy instrumentation and endlessly catchy hooks. They’re underrated AF.
Paramore: A classic one we’ve got here. Whether you’re into their older, more emo-punk sound or their newer, more pop-rock vibe, you’re bound to find something you like. Hayley Williams is a wonderful vocalist. (Have you seen the videos of her performing live in the studio? It’s insane!)
Pale Waves: I’d heard of them from time to time and recently checked out their latest album. I wish I’d listened to them sooner, because it was really good. They’re sound is a blends of everything, emo/punk/pop/electronic/rock, I’ve heard them compared to the 1975, (not to mention Heather Baron-Gracie’s iconic eyeshadow looks.)
Glades: I don’t understand why they aren’t bigger. Glades have a lot of catchy electropop songs that range from upbeat and danceable to soothing and chill. I’m in love with Karina Wykes’s vocals.
Fickle Friends: On the search for electropop groups in the vein of CHVRCHES, I came across Fickle Friends. Their music is peppy and upbeat and a whole lot of fun to dance to. They’ve been releasing music for years, and their debut album is great start to end.
The Pretty Reckless: I’d like to thank Supernatural for getting me into this band when they played “Make Me Wanna Die” in an episode, because now I’ve discovered one of my favorite kick-ass rock bands. Who knew Jenny Humphrey could go that hard?
Black Honey: If you’re into that rock-punk sound with a retro throwback vibe, check them out. Izzy B. Phillips has a ton of personality on the vocals. Thanks to YouTube for recommending one of their wonderfully aesthetic and impressive music videos to me.
Dream Wife: I came across them on the hunt for all-female rock bands. I had no clue that they would rock so hard, I was shaken the first time I listened to them. If you want full-on, noisy, headbanging rock music, they dropped their debut album.
Dorothy: Even if you don’t know Dorothy, you probably know Dorothy. Their songs have been in The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, Wynonna Earp, Pretty Little Liars, Orange Is The New Black, and a bunch of other shows. (I first heard one of their songs in a video game add.) Their first album, Rockisdead, is stuffed to the brim with bangers, and their second album, 28 Days In The Valley, takes a bit of a different approach, but is still good.
Goat Girl: A bit more alternative with a twinge of rock, this band is probably the weirdest on this list, but don’t let that deter you. Their songs have incredible range in tone. The lead singer Lottie has a deeper, more complex voice.
Bahari: This band is so gosh darned summery. They have an array of summer jams on their EP, but have also released chiller, more edgy singles. Their electronic/pop/acoustic sound is quite enjoyable.
MisterWives: Their music is just a ton of fun. It’s sparkly, upbeat pop with a bit of alternative and electronic sprinkles throughout. They’ve got a similar sound to St. Lucia. The lead singer, Mandy Lee, has a voice that I can only describe as a cross between Shakira and Halsey.
Listen to a mix of my faves from these bands! Do you listen to any of these bands? Do you have any recommendations for female-fronted or all-female bands? Maybe I’ll make a part 2 in the future.
are u ever too stressed to do anything like ur literally so stressed that it has reduced u to someone who stares at the wall for two hours instead of doing the things u need to do that will make u unstressed
